International Women’s Day-এর ইতিহাস 1900s-এ শুরু, যখন women labor rights, vote rights, এবং workplace equality-এর জন্য global movement শুরু হয়।

প্রথমবার ১৯০৮ সালে USA-তে IWD পালন করা হয়, যেখানে garment factory-এর নারীরা better wages, safer working conditions, এবং political rights-এর জন্য march করেছিল।
